Advanced Course
A course designed to help you develop a more advanced facilitation practice and technique. By the end you'll have a deeper understanding of the modes of facilitation and when to apply they. You'll have practiced, experimented and practiced some more! You'll have a chance to focus on the topics that you're most interested in, challenged by and curious about.

Who: You will have some facilitation experience and want or need to expand your skills. This might mean that you have a specific challenge, fear or barrier to tackle. Or you might have lots of experience with a specific audience and want to branch out. Whether you're a strong second facilitator wanting to fly solo, or you want confidence with more challenging sessions and situations this course will help. You'll expand your ability and range of approaches. It could be that you've been facilitating and feeling your way through and now want to invest in your own professional development. If so this course will give you the structured support, practice and knowledge that you're looking for.

What to Expect: Each person who comes on the course will come for their own reason with their own unique set of experiences and know-how. I fully expect that you will learn much from each other as well as from the set course content and structure. I will provide you with frameworks, tools and techniques to support your learning, however the key to great facilitation is more about how and when you use them than the tools themselves. So yes - the course will be experiential and practical! It will be a hands-on opportunity to learn about facilitation that is learner-led. That means that you will get a chance to experiment and practice each day, in a safe space where you will get valuable support, feedback and advice. You will need to do a small amount of preparation in advance in order to make sure the practice you do is directly relevant to you. I'll outline this in detail in the pre-course information and again when we talk - it should take you no more than 60mins (and possibly less).

Course Content to include: Some of the course will be shaped by what’s most important to you. However, a some core areas that we will cover include:

Outcomes: You will leave this course equipped with reliable frameworks and techniques for facilitating a wide range of groups. More than that you will have a better understanding of when and where to apply them! You will increase your confidence dealing with more complex programmes and situations. You will be able to create learning that is transferable and will have overcome some of your personal facilitation fears. You'll have a strong sense of yourself as a facilitator, your strengths and areas to develop.
